Changing the center brake light (or really any of the rear bulbs) is a completely tool free experience. Just unclip the little hatch on the trunk ceiling to reveal the bulb holder. Give that a quarter turn and it pops right out.

That’s pretty much how all rear bulbs were done until somebody decided to get all fancy about it. On my Camaro you give the housing a quarter turn to release it from the lens , give the bulb a quarter turn, and you’re set.
